Halal Recipe for Smorrebrod

Smorrebrod is basically an open sandwich consisting of slices of dark brown whole wheat bread, topped with assorted ingredients.

The Danish open faced sandwiches, Smorrebrod, are perhaps the most famous of the Danish food classics. Smorrebrod is simply a slice of rye bread with various combinations of toppings such as pickled herring, roast beef, and eggs topped with mayo and shrimps. These heaped rye bread treats date back to the 19th century, but the handy lunch item has had a face lift in recent years and is now hipper than ever.

It doesn't take long to make Smorrebrod and is rich in vitamins and protein. You'll find Smorrebrod in every restaurant, but you can also buy the ingredients you like from the city supermarket and make your own.

Halal Recipe for Smorrebrod

Ingredients:
       

  •     1 piece of rye bread
  •     1 tbsp butter
  •     1 tbsp canned tuna
  •     Cucumber slices
  •     Tomato slices
  •     Tomato sauce
  •     Quail eggs
  •     Oregano Powder


How to Make Smorrebrod


  1.     Cut the bread and spread it with butter and tomato sauce
  2.     Add canned tuna according to taste
  3.     Fried quail eggs half cooked (any egg is ok)
  4.     Arrange cucumber, tomato and egg on the bread then sprinkle with oregano
  5.     Smorrebrod is ready to serve
