The Origins of Hummus
That being said, though, based on historical information, hummus likely originated from ancient Egypt. According to several historical sources, the earliest mention of hummus dates back to Egypt in the 13th century. Chickpeas were and are abundant in the Middle East and are still commonly eaten.
Materials for Arabian Hummus:
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 1 lemon squeezed take the water
- 1 small clove of garlic, finely chopped
- 60 ml of tahini
- 30 ml olive oil
- 15 gr plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 tsp salt
- a pinch of ground cumin
- 20 ml of aquafaba (canned chickpea water)
- 2 cubes of ice cubes
How to make Materials for Arabian Hummus:
1. Strain the chickpeas then wash, peel the skin, don't throw away the used filter water (aquafaba)
2. Put all the ingredients except the aquafaba and ice cubes into the food processor. Process until smooth and creamy. Scrape the bottom occasionally. Repeat until soft
3. Finally add aquafaba and ice cubes, then process again until smooth
4. Hummus is ready to serve with drizzle olive oil, sumac and paprika powder.
