Halal Recipe for Chiken Kiev

 Chicken kiev is a dish made from chicken fillet filled with various other additives, and comes from Ukraine.

According to Viacheslav Gribov, head chef of the Dnipro Hotel in Kiev, Ukraine in the late 1840s, the Russian aristocrats sent their chefs to Paris to study. When they returned to Russia, they brought with them a recipe called Mikhailovska cutlet.

Dishes made in Paris use veal. But, in Moscow, Russia Chiken Kiev is made from chicken because veal is expensive. This dish is served in luxurious dining rooms and official dinners in Russia, but it was America who popularized the name Chicken Kiev.

After World War II, fine-dining restaurant chefs in New York began serving this dish. This dish was named Chicken Kiev to attract Russian and Ukrainian immigrants who lived in New York at that time. The name of the dish made the city of Kiev very famous.

This classic chicken dish is perfect for a special dinner. The outside is crispy crispy while the inside is soft with melted spiced butter that is fragrant and delicious. Can be eaten with vegetables and baked potato

Halal Recipe for Chiken Kiev


Ingredients:

  • 100 g butter 
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped 
  • 1 tsp grated lemon zest 
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley 
  • 2 tbsp chopped chives 
  • 4 pieces (700 g) whole boneless chicken breast 
  • 50 g wheat flour
  • 2 chicken eggs, beaten 
  • 140 g white bread flour 
  • cooking oil


How to make Chiken Kiev:

  1. Beat butter until soft. Add the garlic, lemon zest, parsley, and chives. Stir well.
  2. Place the seasoned butter on a sheet of thick plastic. Shape into a 20 cm long cylinder. Store in the freezer until firm.
  3. Slice the chicken breast lengthwise until it is wide. Beat with a meat mallet until evenly distributed.
  4. Cut the butter into 4 parts.
  5. Place each piece of butter on top of a piece of chicken. Roll up, fold both sides and roll up neatly.
  6. Sprinkle with flour until smooth, dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs. Store in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  7. Repeat coating with egg and breadcrumbs.
  8. Fry in plenty of oil and heat over medium heat until golden brown.
  9. Lift and drain.
