Halal Recipe for Strawberry Pavlova

Halal Recipe for Strawberry Pavlova

Pavlova is a cake whose name is inspired by the name of the Russian ballerina, Anna Pavlova. In 1926-1929, Anna Pavlova visited Australia on a ballet tour. Chef Herbert Sachse wanted to bake a cake in honor of the arrival of the famous ballerina, so he created a dessert that tastes light like ballerina dance moves.

But the origin of this cake has been a contention between Australia and New Zealand today as New Zealanders claim that Pavlova was in their recipe a long time ago.

Halal Recipe for Strawberry Pavlova

The main ingredient:

  •     90 grams egg white
  •     320 grams of sugar
  •     300 ml whipped cream

Strawberry Jam:

  •     125 ml of strawberry juice
  •     1 tbsp lemon juice
  •     50 grams of sugar
  •     2 tablespoons cornstarch solution
  •     500 grams of strawberries

How to Make Strawberry Pavlova

Combine the ingredients for the jam
To make strawberry jam, cook a mixture of strawberry juice, lemon juice, and sugar on the stove over medium heat. Cook until the jam boils and the sugar dissolves. Add cornstarch solution, stir and cook until boiling and slightly thickened. After boiling, turn off the heat then add the strawberry pieces. Remove and chill.

Shake the egg whites to make the pavlova mixture
To make the pavlova layer, beat the egg whites using a mixer on high speed until they are bubbly. Add the sugar little by little while continuing to beat until stiff. Then, put the dough into the plastic triangle with a syringe or a star-shaped funnel.

Serve the pavlova with the jam and strawberries on top
Arrange the pavlova on a plate, then coat with additional whipped cream. The use of whipped cream is not mandatory, so you can skip it. Sprinkle strawberry jam on top and add strawberries to sweeten it.
