Kebab in Turkey is a meat-based food. So, kebab are not just bread filled with cut meat or cut hanging meat. There are kebab that use elongated buns, there are also round buns like burgers, to those in the form of satay without bread. But clearly, meat as the main ingredient, not bread. The skin of the bread or the bread itself is only used as a meat wrapper which can be used or not. The rest is vegetables, onions and peppers. While the spices are a mixture of several spices. In addition, the original Turkish kebab also does not use sauce.

Halal Recipes for Turkish Kebabs

Meat filling ingredients for 5 servings:
- 250 gr minced beef
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 10 grams of breadcrumbs
- 1/2 egg (25 g)
- 1/2 tsp cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp ground paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- A pinch of nutmeg powder
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper

Kebabs Ingredients:
- 195 gr medium protein flour tepung
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 40 ml of oil
- 90 ml of warm water

Other ingredients:
- Lettuce, slice
- Tomato, slice
- Mayonnaise

How to make Kebab:

  1. For the meat filling, mix all ingredients until blended (can use a food processor), form an elongated round, wrap it in plastic and put it in the refrigerator for 1 / 2-2 hours.
  2. Heat the meat in a skillet with a little oil until all surfaces are brown.
  3. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes (180 degrees Celsius). Let it cool, then slice it.
  4. For kebab skin, mix dry ingredients until blended. Add oil gradually while continuing to stir, then add water.
  5. Stir continuously until blended (can use a mixer at medium speed for 1 minute, then low speed 1 minute)
  6. Divide the dough into 8, round, flatten, cover and let stand 15 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough to form a circle of 20 cm.
  8. Heat in a skillet without oil for 1 minute, turn, cook another 20 minutes.
  9. Put the kebab skin on the plate. Fill with meat, lettuce, tomato, and then roll.
