Halal Recipes for Chana Masala

Chana masala, also known as channay, chole masala, chole or chholay, is a dish that originates from the Indian subcontinent. The main ingredient Chana Masala is a variety of beans called chana (चना) or kala chana ('black chana'). They are twice the diameter of typical chickpeas with a stronger taste and firmer texture even after cooking.

In India, Chana Masala is sold by street vendors and restaurants, and can be eaten with puri.

Halal Recipe for Chana Masala

ingredients :

1.4 cups of chana nuts
2. 3/4 chopped onion
3. 1/2 cup tamarind juice
4. 1/3 cup tomatoes
5. 3 cloves of garlic
6. 1 finger ginger
7. 1 tbsp celery leaves
8.3 green chilies
9. Salt masala & chili powder - 1 tsp each

How to cook Chana Masala :


1. Soak Chana in water overnight or for about 6 hours.

2. Cook the chana with a little baking soda and salt

3. Take 2 tablespoons of oil in a saucepan and heat it, add the cumin (jeera) and mustard seeds. saute until chopped onion until brown.

4. Next, add the cooked chana and tamarind water.

5. Mix in a saucepan and add salt. Cook on low heat.

6. Garnish with some coriander (coriander) leaves. Serve while warm

Can be served with Batura (Indian Bread)
